Re: Does Cresswell really make that much of a difference ?
Cresswell is a very good player which seems to have come as a bit of a surprise to some people. Sometimes you come to be appreciated a bit more when you aren't there.
That said Arthur has been very good up until yesterday's nightmare. Cresswell had a similar day v Bournemouth last season & hopefully Arthur bounces back similarly.

To me the problem is that Collins shouldn't be starting in Premier League games and the 'protection' afforded by Kouyate and Noble would be laughed off a Sunday league pitch.

I would have the players in for two extra sessions of defensive training a day until we have 3 clean sheets in a row.
One at 7am til 8am and the other at 8pm til 9pm. On top of normal training. All squad members including injured players to attend. If anyone misses a session the whole squad is fined 2 weeks wages and the next session is 2 hrs long.

Another shit thread. Masuaku has one bad game and this? Cresswell isn't exactly a defensive powerhouse so I don't see how he'd have made any difference at all. Fucking idiots.

In fairness around the same stage last season he was being hauled off and ogbonna shoved to left back because he was getting rinsed by Bournemouth!

But relegation under roeder showed how important it is to have two solid full backs - if we'd had Johnson and brevett from the start that season we may well have been ok

Defensively, surely first choice now has to be Cresswell, Ogbonna, Reid and Arbeloa (on reputation only at this stage)?

Leave any back 4 exposed and you'll concede goals.

That's what some were saying about Oggy starting yesterday..

Sometimes all that's needed is a slight tune up. Cresswell could be that.

#Clutching at straws.

Will be good to have him back, but let's be real, a LB coming back aint gonna change that much.

Missing Cresswell yes. Can't do anything about Tomkins but he could have come in as a replacement for Collins and it was redic to sell him to palace

Reckon he's a big part of the dressing room.
Certain players are missed.

No excuse for our performances without him though.

Cresswell wouldn't have improved our defence, but we certainly miss him in attack.

Yes. We miss his understanding with Payet and also his crosses.

Cresswell wouldn't have done that FUCKING SPASTIC handball after 8 minutes today.

we miss his workrate and distribution. J.ARTHUR is very enthusiastic but lacks Cresswell's technical ability

The problem is Collins.
